When the Witch Becomes the Hunter: Illustrating Shared Characteristics of Contemporary United States Politics and the European Witch Hunts of the 15th–18th Centuries
This body of artworks explores power dynamics informed by research into the European witch hunts and contemporary political events in the United States. Parallels are found then analyzed through the lens of social reproduction theory and intersectional feminism. Each artwork takes on a different topic and mediums range from drawing, fiber media, printmaking, and metals. The final project culminates in an exhibition in the on-campus compARTment Gallery of selected artworks. An accompanying written document details the research conducted as well as the methods for artwork creation.

PROFESSIONAL RECOMMENDATION
2011 – 2018
Tori M. (she/her) | Former Manager at Bold Technologies and PSA Worldwide | Read on LinkedIn
“You won't find a better designer than Amanda Coburn. Period. Amanda lives and breathes design. Some people do it for their job and set it aside at the end of the workday. For Amanda, it is woven in various ways into the fabric of everything she does: her hobbies, her correspondence, even her observations. And it shows in the meticulous ways she goes about her process. I worked with Amanda at two organizations and both times her style builds and organizational methods were second only to the design work itself, which was always a perfect fit to the project scope. If you need beautiful design work tailored to your specific needs, I highly recommend Amanda Coburn.”
